Hiwa began his career in finance and consulting roles in Salt Lake City. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Brigham Young University – Idaho where he initially discovered his passion for venture investing.

He has experience working with various venture firms based in Utah. During the summer, he interned with Peterson Ventures, where he had the opportunity to work on research for budding industries and sourcing, performing diligence, and investing in FinTech, SaaS, HealthTech, and e-commerce startups.

Hiwa continues to be heavily involved in the venture space through his role in Cougar Capital and other leadership responsibilities with Campus Founders Fund. He hopes to start his post-MBA career in an early stage investing or startup role. In his free time, Hiwa loves to read, play and watch sports, and loves any adventure or experience with his wife Jennie.
