Who Manages Cougar Capital
The Cougar Capital fund is run by 15 BYU MBA students in their second year of study and is advised by Gary Williams, the founder and faculty sponsor. Three or four students are selected each year for Managing Director responsibilities and all Cougar Capital members contribute to specific functions in the fund ranging from deal flow to communications.
How Students Are Selected
Students participating in Cougar Capital are selected through a thorough screening processes, which includes exemplary performance in an introductory private equity / venture capital course (taken during their second semester), relevant industry experience prior to the MBA, and recommendation to the program by BYU MBA professors and peers.
