Matthew is a dual degree JD/MBA candidate with a variety of experiences that have contributed to his love for the venture space and investing. Originally interested in corporate M&A law, he adjusted course and applied for the MBA program after realizing he was much more interested in the diligence and deal-making process, interacting with businesses and founders and learning about their businesses instead of drafting documents.

As a son of two small business owners in Central Washington, Matthew has a great appreciation for founders and the unseen work they put in to build a business. He spent this summer at Battery Ventures on their enterprise SaaS team, and the previous summer at Banner Ventures, a Utah private equity fund, with some time in between on Campus Founders Fund, a student-run venture fund sponsored by Kickstart Seed Fund. When Matthew’s not working or at school, he loves to be in the outdoors enjoying Utah’s mountains and golf courses.
